ATTIVA may be considered for adults seeking a minimally invasive radiofrequency-based aesthetic treatment. The appropriate treatment depends on your anatomy, degree of skin laxity, treatment area, medical history, medications, implanted medical devices, and aesthetic goals. ATTIVA should not be used during pregnancy or when fever or an active skin infection is present in or around the treatment area. Yes. ATTIVA® is an FDA-cleared Class II radiofrequency medical device. In the United States, its FDA-cleared indication includes radiofrequency-induced tissue heating for electrocoagulation and hemostasis in adult patients.
ATTIVA RF is typically performed with topical or local anesthesia. Most patients report very little discomfort, although sensitive areas may feel more noticeable during treatment. The procedure is generally well tolerated. Temporary redness or mild swelling may occur afterward as part of the expected tissue response associated with radiofrequency-induced collagen remodeling.
Before ATTIVA, review your medical history, medications, allergies, previous procedures, and treatment goals with your provider. Inform us if you are pregnant, have a fever or active infection, or have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or other implanted electronic device. Avoid significant sun exposure and tanning at least seven days before treatment. If instructed by your provider, discontinue topical retinoids and other irritating active skincare products approximately 5–7 days before treatment. Never stop prescription medications, anticoagulants, or medically necessary therapy unless specifically instructed by the prescribing clinician.
Routine time off from desk or non-strenuous work is generally not required. Most patients can return to work and normal daily activities once they are comfortable following treatment. Some patients may choose social downtime even when they are physically able to work.
Avoid strenuous exercise for approximately 24–48 hours after ATTIVA, or longer if indicated by the provider. Light walking and normal daily activity are generally acceptable. Your provider may modify these instructions depending on the treatment area and your individual recovery.
DO: keep the treated area clean, follow your individualized aftercare instructions, stay well hydrated, use appropriate sun protection, and contact the office if you experience unexpected or worsening symptoms.
AVOID: strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours, excessive heat such as saunas or hot tubs, aggressive rubbing or massage of the treated area, and irritating skincare products until the skin has recovered. Avoid direct sun exposure while redness or swelling is present.
